Sat on the edge of the old horses drinking trough (the legs don’t get any better!)

Mum (with me on her lap) at another of the horses drinking troughs. This one had a sort of fountain as well (metal pipe seen jutting out from the orange stonework) as well a sundial.

Dad working hard whilst I ‘supervise’ the construction of the new fence to keep the rabbits away from our vegetable garden. We must have done a reasonable job - one of the fence post still survives after 47 years! Looks like rabbits would have a great time these days.

Mum & Dad celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary with an outdoor party in 1983. They have just celebrated their 65th Anniversary!

Luckily you can’t see that I am wearing a T shirt featuring the glam rock band ‘Slade’! Note the long hair, just prior to having it cut short to join the Police Cadets. Someone has been sensible and done away with the grass, otherwise not much else has changed.

Three horse drawn carriages were stored in the Stable Yard from the end of the 1st World War (when the horses were requestioned from the Estate), until around 1966, when they were sent to the Bristol Museum on long term loan. Unfortunately, they have never been put on display by the Museum, and no one seems to know what happened to them. I remember the lorries (low loaders) coming to take the carriages away

Dad working hard to grow us some vegetables. A bit of a mess these days.
